  • [2020/04/03]Due to heavy traffic generated by the COVID-19 outbreak, the ICTRP Search Portal is not accessible from outside WHO temporarily. Until the problem is solved, WHO/ICTRP is making the COVID-19 trials data available for download in CSV format, updated on a weekly basis and available from the following link https://bit.ly/3axnfup

  • Bulk download of UMIN-CTR dataset is available from here
  • Since WHO revised TRDS(Trial Registration Data Set) to version 1.3, summary results and IPD(individual clinical trial participant-level data) sharing statement of every clinical trial registration will be mandatory. UMIN-CTR will be adjusted to the new version soon. To share IPD, you can use UMIN-ICDS(UMIN Individual Case Data Sharing System) service, that is linked with UMIN-CTR. For more information, refer to ICDS website.

We have changed the layout of all screens related to this system. The input position (arrangement) and button names have also been changed.
In addition, UMIN-ICDS has also been updated so that even if you use UMIN-CTR registered trial data and another clinical trial registration system, you can use the UMIN-ICDS function only for data storage.

Registering and updating trial information※UMIN ID and password are required

After official registration is completed, a "Unique ID issued by UMIN" will be issued. *Unique ID issued by UMIN = "UMIN + 9-digit number" (example: UMIN000023456)
* Please note that the reception number "R + 9-digit number" (example: R000000003) is not the study ID. Even if the reception number is issued, it is not officially registered.
Please note that once the registration is officially completed (the study ID is issued), the clinical trial cannot be withdrawn.
UMIN-CTR Operation Manual (HTML)

After completing all the forms and performing the final confirmation (registration process) of the data, the study ID will be issued and officially registered.

You can revise, update, or withdraw clinical trial information that is in the process of being registered in the trial system.

You can check and update officially registered clinical trial information (clinical trials for which a clinical trial ID was issued).
